Pedagogical planning is crucial for development

Children are supported to learn effectively through planning, it supports progress towards early learning goals and it makes learning exciting and progressive. Effective planning ensures all children have access to the same developmental opportunities and enjoy an inclusive approach.

Following a plan

Planning is only effective if the children are included. We encourage and guide children to plan with us on the planning. Children bring amazing ideas for topics and what to learn from them.
Children have the most amazing imaginations and to bring them to life is important. As they progress, they will learn how to plan in groups and individually. Children teach us so much and we embrace this throughout the year.
Parent involvement is encouraged as you play an important role in your child's early childhood education and care, it leads to better social, emotional and learning outcomes.

4 Planning Types

YEAR PLAN

Planned according to topics children want to discover for the following year. We incorporate seasons and cultural celebrations including both national and international. Important learning areas are covered to create Phenomonen-based (project-based) learning and to fulfil the curriculum requirements for critical thinking, problem-solving, social and emotional skills, and evaluation.
GROUP PLAN (VASU)

This planning is a combination of pedagogical frameworks needed to work on from evaluations made on the group and individual children's need for experimentation, involvement, or problems that need supportive measures made from teachers' or parents' evaluations. The evaluations from all will then be planned into the group planning, which allows for the agreed pedagogical frameworks to be collectively worked on and is a key resource for teachers to plan weekly and to create effective activities.
WEEKLY PLAN

This form of planning should be related to the children's ideas of how they want to learn and what they want to do. The plan is carefully constructed by the teachers to implement the agreed attainments from the 'Group Plan' in cooperation with the children and parents' contributions. This is important for inclusive pedagogy and will already give teachers the structure for their activity planning and give focus on what perspective they should use for self-evaluation. This evaluation should be included in the following week's planning.
ACTIVITY PLANNING

This plan includes the agreed principles on what framework teachers should be working on. The plan includes an inclusive approach for all children, is cross-curricular, and diverse in age appropriation and skill levels. Teachers must implement and evaluate the tools and abilities needed to create effective plans. Teachers self-assess after the plan to continue developmental teaching that supports the needs of the children or specific child.

Our food is prepared freshly at the school and we provide homemade style dishes.

We try to include as many vegetables as possible in the dishes.

All children will have vegetarian food at least a few times a week.

We follow nutritional guidelines and use fresh produce in cooking as often as possible.

International cuisine is also on the menu, Finnish, Indian, Chinese, British, Italian, Mexican, Greek, and more!

Parents who wish to influence our meals with ideas on dishes are more than welcome to send us suggestions and recipes.
